Pacific Environment, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco, protects the living environment of the Pacific Rim by promoting grassroots activism, strengthening communities and reforming international policies.  For nearly two decades, Pacific Environment has partnered with local communities to achieve conservation and social justice victories around the Pacific Rim, including Kamchatka, Russia.

Pacific Environment dedicates over 25% of our budget each year to funding over 45 grassroots organizations around the Pacific Rim. Because environmental threats often extend across regions, Pacific Environment forges coalitions and partnerships between geographically isolated environmentalists around the Pacific Rim. Our staff is based in California, Alaska, Russia, and China.  Pacific Environment's success stems from a deep and abiding trust that local people, armed with the right tools and solid support, are the world's best hope for environmental renewal.  Go to www.pacificenvironment.org to learn more about our work.
